THE LEGACY STORY
QUICK QUESTIONS
HOW DOES A SHUTTLE PARK WORK
Guests will ride up the mountain in a Flatbed shuttle on benches/seats, while their bikes ride behind them on one of our Huck Wagon bike carriers. Each shuttle takes 20 guests at a time to the top of the park where guests can select from a variety of trails.
As of 2024, we now also offer a "Pedal" option - no shuttle access but you can ride the uphill trail all you'd like and descend via the other trails.
I'M NOT A PRO - CAN I RIDE HERE
We suggest our park to anyone over 7 years of age, with any kind of previous off road biking experience. Guests should feel comfortable standing on their bike as they descend and be able to control their speed down moderate terrain.
Please see our map and trail description, which follows ski resort symbology: Green is easy, Double Black is committing.
Lots of families enjoy biking here and regularly tell us: "I was scared/intimidated coming in, and I came out with my best day of riding ever!"
HOW DO I GET TO LEGACY
We're a backcountry private Bike Park accessed by US Highway 93. We are about 1 mile south of the town of Lakeside, Montana. A gate code is required to access the Park which will be sent with the purchase of your shuttle pass. The physical address is 2376 Legacy Park Way, Lakeside, MT 59922.Here is a link to the turn-off for ease of navigation.
DO I NEED A TICKET TO COME BY
Yes, entry into the park requires a ticket. Tickets must be purchased before arrival to receive a gate code. CLICK HERE FOR A TICKET!
We do sell out, so buy ahead of time.
DO YOU ALLOW E-BIKES
YOU BETCHA, we're one of the only places in Montana that does!
You can choose to purchase an uphill ticket (which includes shuttle rides for when you're tired) or simply pedal your bike up the required uphill trail (Pedal PASS).
You cannot ride the shuttle unless you have purchased a "Shuttle" pass, but anyone with a Shuttle pass can ebike up a lap or two.
CAN I RENT THE PARK
Yes, we do offer limited Park rental opportunities during the year. Can you say "best birthday party ever?". Please inquire with our Park manager at manager@legacybikepark.com.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING
We are a backcountry facility with primitive offerings: we have pit toilets, cel service in some locations, helpful staff, and shredding trails.
You should bring:
Water
Bike, Pads, Tools, Helmet
A stocked cooler
Camping gear
SAFETY?
This is a downhill mountain bike park. We institute many safety precautions so our guests can experience a great time. First of all, staff are available to talk about trails, difficulty and give recommendations. Secondly, we highly recommend the pre-ride, re-ride, free-ride mantra that means a rider should slowly inspect a run before they send it. Thirdly, many of our staff are trained as Wilderness First Responders, allowing them to help assess the seriousness of injuries and call for help.
I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS
No problem. We talk to many people for whom this is their first Bike Park experience. We're here for you.
